Responsibilities: 


  • Lead and manage research projects in transmission genetics, including experimental design, execution, data analysis, and interpretation. 

  • Investigate genetic trait inheritance patterns and mechanisms in populations, including Mendelian and non-Mendelian inheritance. To study genetic variation and inheritance, Apply advanced genetic techniques, such as linkage analysis, quantitative trait loci (QTL) mapping, genome-wide association studies (GWAS), and genetic modeling. 

  • Utilize statistical genetics methods and software for data analysis and interpretation. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to study the genetic basis of complex traits, diseases, and the impact of genetic variation on populations. 

  • Publish research findings in reputable scientific journals, present at conferences, and contribute to intellectual property development. 

  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior scientists and research staff, fostering their professional development and growth. 

  • Stay current with the latest advancements in transmission genetics, statistical genetics, and genetic analysis techniques, and apply new knowledge to research activities. 

  • Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with academic institutions, research organizations, and industry partners. 

  • Contribute to grant proposal development and secure external funding for research projects. 


Requirements: 


  • Ph.D. in Genetics, Genomics, Population Genetics, or a related field.

  • Post-doctoral research experience is highly desirable.  Proven track record of successful research in transmission genetics, demonstrated by publications in reputable scientific journals. 

  • Strong expertise in genetic analysis techniques, such as linkage analysis, QTL mapping, GWAS, and genetic modeling. 

  • Proficiency in statistical genetics methods and software packages used for genetic data analysis. Experience with high-throughput sequencing platforms and bioinformatics tools for genetic variant identification and analysis. 

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to design and implement complex transmission genetics experiments. 

  • Strong knowledge of population genetics principles and their application in understanding genetic variation and inheritance patterns. 

  • Strong leadership abilities, with experience in project management, team supervision, and mentorship. 

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate scientific concepts to technical and non-technical audiences. 

  • Collaborative mindset and the ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams.
